The Application
A topical numbing cream is applied before the treatment begins. Most clients find the process comfortable, some feel nothing at all, others feel mild pressure or a light scratching sensation. The actual treatment typically takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the service.
The Healing Process
PMU healing happens in stages. In the first few days, the color appears significantly darker than the final result, do not panic. As the skin heals and the outer layers shed, the pigment softens and lightens to its true color.
Full healing takes 4 to 6 weeks. Most clients come back for a touch-up appointment 6 to 8 weeks after the initial treatment. This is where fine-tuning happens, adjusting the color, filling in any areas that healed lighter, or refining the shape.
Aftercare
Keep the treated area dry and clean for the first few days. Avoid swimming, saunas, and direct sun exposure during healing. Do not pick at any scabbing or peeling skin. Is PMU Right for You?
PMU is suitable for most people, but there are some contraindications. We do not perform PMU on clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, on active skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis) in the treatment area, or on clients taking certain blood-thinning medications without medical clearance.
